They're Hard To Hate.

So Katie's been after me for a few weeks now to write my Stupid and Trashy blog. The truth is, I have these classmates who I refer to as Stupid and Trashy because those are the adjectives that I felt (and sometimes still do feel) best describe these two people, but they've actually grown on me to the point where they've become hard to complain about. Especially Trashy who, it turns out, just operates by putting 100% of herself out in the open - her judgements, feelings, opinions, the works. So while it seemed trashy in the beginning to just hear hypocritical statement after hypocritical statement while she and Stupid had conversations that included the statements "I don't think women should be president - I'm a woman and I know how emotional we can be." and then called me a feminist(!) for saying that I've seen more men than women get into bar fights over stupid things and that women are perfectly capable leaders. Yes, that day was ridiculous and it was, in fact, the day that they were anointed Stupid and Trashy. But still. Even a fungus will grow on you if the conditions are right. The truth is that Stupid and Trashy have become the lesser of all the evils of Anatomy and Physiology class. For one, they're HILARIOUS and for the other...I'd take Stupid and/or Trashy of Obnoxious, "I Don't Get It", "I Have A Story", and "I Have A Better Story Than She Does", which are all other people in my class. That's where the real bitterness lies, and THAT, my friends, is where the real meat is, and it will have to wait until tomorrow. That's right, you finally got your Stupid and Trashy blog but...yeah I know it was disappointing. :-) I have to leave you wanting or you'll quit reading my blog! You...two people who read my blog. ;-) Have a nice day!

Diagnosis Win! (Extended Version)

I went to Target today to pick up a few things and I was carrying my little basket, meandering through the aisles, and I passed this mom and her three children. The mom was talking to the older two who were walking beside her but the youngest was maybe 2 or 3 and riding in the shopping cart. I'm not kidding, all he was doing was sitting there going "BAA! BAA! BAA! BAA! BAA! BAA! BAA! BAA! BAA! BAA!" and the awesome part was that the mom and other kids were just totally cool about it, chatting away about other things while this kid imitated a sheep for no apparent reason. Confused, I texted a few people asking what they thought was up with this kid and why he was acting like that. I got some great responses but by far the best one was from my friend Christina, who teaches a resource class in an elementary school.

ME: So I'm at Target and I just passed by this kid who is saying "BAA" like a sheep over and over. Diagnosis?
CHRISTINA: KAR - Kid Ain't Right - that's our diagnosis when we observe a kid and are like WTF!

I totally LOL'd in the middle of the picture frame aisle at Target. That's a diagnosis win if I've EVER seen one.

Oh John Mayer. Put yer shirt back on.

"I want you to know it's all about the music. It's always been about the music."

Umm...then why, John Mayer, are you preaching instead of playing music? Rule number one of impressing me is always show me don't tell me, because the number one sign of fakeness is being all mouth. So anyway, you might know that I was at the Brett Dennan/Colbie Caillat/John Mayer concert in Dallas with Katie last weekend, and those of you who received my text messages know that I was dismayed and offended by JM's horrendous cover of "Free Fallin'". And when I say offended I mean that was, like, my fave song when I was a kid and nobody can do it like Tom Petty so...don't even try. And also he did a Stevie Ray Vaughan cover. I'm sorry, it just seems like when you've got tons of hits and literally hours of your own music that you could be performing it's a bit arrogant to sing someone ELSE'S music at your show. Sure, if you feel so compelled, play a cover - ONE cover - but not three, unless they're really awesome. Which, BTW, they weren't. So John Mayer? Officially tool-riffic.

Also Perez got a hold of some pics from his Dallas show and called him gay. Thanks to Moose (A victim of my angry texting!) for passing that info along. Love you!

Untitled Blog Post About Your Stupid Phone

So courtesy note to the whole wide world, especially people who sit near me in my classes, particularly someone in the class I'm taking right now, we'll call her "Obnoxious" (since "Stupid" and "Trashy" are already taken): putting your phone on "vibrate" instead of "silent" or "off" is not the same thing. Because apparently your phone is the size of a brick or you've got a Thunderstick A-200 in your backpack and it's rattling around in there loudly banging on the table while I'm trying to take a test. It's just as disturbing as if you hadn't turned the ringer off in the first place. I know exactly how many missed calls you have and that you've got a voicemail waiting for you. So do me a favor, hit the "volume down" button ONE MORE TIME, because the vibrating is just not gonna work. That's what she said. Also I hate you.

Movie Fail

Apparently I have movie watching to do. Let me just say that I'm suuuuper picky when it comes to movies and I really have to be in the mood to watch a new one because I have my faves that I can (and do) watch over and over again without getting sicks of them. But I was in the car with Rachael's kids and Dale earlier and I got made fun of BAD for my lack of "cool movie" viewing. My name is Meredith, and I haven't seen any of the Shrek movies, any of the Harry Potter movies, or any of the Star Wars ones except the first movie which is actually the fourth movie or something? Yes. And to Tristian, Madee, and Dale, this is hilarious, blasphemous, and makes me a loser.

So it looks like I know what I'm doing when A&P is over. But in return they should have to watch Casablanca, Dazed and Confused, Brokedown Palace, and Super Troopers. What's that you say? Those are some of the most awesome movies ever made? YES, well then why are you making fun of me for not seeing Shrek? ;-) Juuuuust kidding. Besides, those aren't really good movies for kids. I don't know, though, Casablanca's been my fave since I was at least eleven. So yeah, weird and extremely long movie marathon at my casa sometime in August? Whatever.

PS: Katie I know you're waiting for Stupid and Trashy but I still have A&P to study for b/c there's ANOTHER test tomorrow (I know!) so I'll write about them later. Love!

So you can go right ahead and add "Sheep Brain" to the list of animals/animal parts that I've dissected. For someone with zero intention of entering any field at all having to do with biology it's a fairly lengthy list, especially given how much I love animals and find taking them apart distasteful. Frog, fetal pig, squid, shark...there have been others. I have thus far avoided the "cat" bullet and I honestly don't intend to ever do that. But anyway. Yes. Today, I woke up, got dressed, went to Wal-Mart (needed safety glasses in case the brain, like, squirted something at me), took my lecture exam (No comment. Except to say it didn't go well.), went to lab and took apart a sheep's brain. Weird day.

And then my prof guy Eric was like "Ok so we're done for now, put your brains in a bag and name it so you can find it later" and one of my lab partners hands it to me and is like "Here, Meredith, you can name it." What the F do you name a sheep brain? I mean really. So naturally I had to be inappropriate and I named it Fluffy. Complete with little hearts. So we can find it later.

And also it's Michelle's and Madee's birthday!! Aww yay. So I have a practical tomorrow and I'll be the loser reviewing bones and muscles at the table tonight while everyone else is eating. Oh the joyful joys of summer school. :-)

I love...

...autopost. :-) Some of you might know that I have been muy busy this past weekend but did that stop me from posting on my blog? NO. Why? Cuz I can write stuff about bad movies I haven't seen or TRIVIA FINALS (see below) on Thursday and tell blogger not to post it 'til Friday or Saturday. Amazing! It's the little things that get me through the day.

Also I had an absolutely impeccable weekend, I'm sure I'll write more about it soon but for the time being I'm pretty exhausted so I'm off to bed. LOVE!!
